
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 - January 19th, 2008) was an American film, theatre television, and voice actress. Pleshette started her stage career and was featured in films in the late 1950s. In later years, she was an important actress in films such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). She also appeared in numerous television shows, usually in guest roles. She she was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978. She received a number of Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was born on the 31st of January 1937, in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, to Geraldine (nee Kaplan)[1 and Eugene Pleshette. Her parents were Jewish and children of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was the stage manager in both the Paramount Theater and the Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
