Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress who is best recognized for her roles in films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She graduated with the B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School at New York University. Aunjanue is an American actress also known as producer and director. She has worked in both film and television. She began her acting career as a theater actress and then appeared in numerous shows on television as well as independent and mainstream films. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico. Then, she made an appearance on BET's epic TV series The Book of Negroes. She made her professional debut in the role of Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. On Broadway she was a part of the cast in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Her film career is highlighted by her roles on Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. In television, her role in ABC's police drama High Incident is well known.
